Please be informed that the mediated back to work plan was rejected on Saturday. This has resulted in the continued strike outside Port Metro Vancouver and is causing further delays and congestion.  With the slowdown of container freight through Vancouver, rail congestion has led to embargos on all transloaders.  Some transloaders are still able to unload railcars and load containers at Vanterm/Centerm on a “permit” basis.

The strike is now impacting the ability of some carriers to accept bookings from other origins where the POL is Vancouver due to congestion.

Weather Delays / Vessel Delays – Weather delays continue to affect vessels arriving into the US and Canada.  The winter storm that occurred in the Midwest and Northeast over the past few weeks brought extreme low temperatures affecting rail operations in the US.  We continue to see revised bookings from shipping lines with updated cut offs, sailings, and ETAs.
